When things are falling apart

Lights out Alice!
All of us have been there, and all of us know how bad it really is. When things come undone, they really come undone in a manner that even the the strongest of bonds won't be able to contain.
Still it remains human nature to label their pain as something that is unique to them and unheard of from the rest of the world.

Another part that is inherently human is our tendency to forget the pain that we had to go through and our inability to relate to situations we are not directly in. We tend to forget easily the pain that we had to go through and now that the moment has passed, we feel like the pain was never that bad, bearable with little sweat on the brow, at the most. Human nature makes you forget that when you were in that situation, that particular moment when things were falling apart, you could not garner a single iota of faith in yourself. You doubted yourself, cursed under your breath for the ill faith that seems to follow you around wherever you go.  You could not come round to the idea that things do go wrong. You feel that all the things that went right previously were just a bait set up to lure the sacrificial goat to the altar. You go into self deprecation. self loathing and a downward spiral that leads to utmost self hatredness.

What do you do then? What should be the rule of thumb that one should follow when things go south?
First of all, have faith. Faith in yourself, your family and everyone you believe in. Also there needs to utmost faith placed in God. Why, you may ask? It is because God is the only one with a copy of your life's script. Nobody else know the full script or how it is going to play out in the end. Is it not better to place your trust in the Only Person who knows the entire story? The rule of thumb is to never give up, never stop believing in yourself even when the world stops believing in you. Writing off people and being judgemental have since time immemorial qualified to be the easiest job in the world. You should never stop fighting. You should never go down without a fight. How is the second line different from the first? It isn't actually, because my aim was to highlight the need to stop quitting or giving up. We fight and hold on when the chips are down and keep our heads up.

Chin up and a big smile on your face. That is exactly how you will weather this storm, just like you weathered the last one.

Lights out Alice!
